Marking the occasion

Tell us when you book, we take it from there.

For an anniversary dinner in downtown San Diego, book through the Reserve button and add the occasion to your booking notes, or mention it when you call (619) 380-2208. It reaches the team before you arrive. Ask for a quieter table in the notes if that matters to you.

Salvatore’s is an Italian restaurant in downtown San Diego with two rooms: the white-tablecloth dining room up front, and the Medusa Room behind it — low pendants, leopard banquettes and a backlit marble bar. Dinner in one, the nightcap twenty feet away in the other, without calling a cab between them.

Choosing the night

Which night suits your anniversary?

Saturday · For the musicA harpist plays early in the evening on a harp the restaurant says once belonged to Harpo Marx. Book an early table, then stay for a drink in the Medusa Room — open until 2 AM.
Friday · For a long nightDinner from 5 PM, and the back room keeps going until 2 AM. The easiest night to turn dinner into the whole evening.
Mon–Thu · For a quiet tableDinner from 5 PM to 11 PM, a calmer room and an easier booking. On weekdays, happy hour runs at the bar from 5 to 7 PM if you want to start early.
Sat & Sun · For a daytime celebrationWeekend brunch, 12 PM to 4 PM — French toast, a croissant Benedict and a flute of Prosecco, with the evening still free.

The details

Small things that make the night.

  • Book early for a weekend. Friday and Saturday tables go first; book as soon as you know the date, and put the anniversary in the notes.
  • Pick your pace. An early table is quieter (and on Saturday, closer to the harp). A later one runs into the livelier part of the night in the Medusa Room.
  • Arrive ten minutes early. Start with a cocktail at the bar before you sit down.
  • Mention allergies or dietary needs in the booking notes, so the kitchen has them before you order.
  • Ask your server to pair a bottle with what you order — the list leans to family vintners from Tuscany, Sicily and the Central Coast.
  • Walk it off. The bay and Seaport Village are a short walk from Front St, and the Gaslamp is five minutes away.

A milestone anniversary

Celebrating with family and friends?

For a 25th, a 40th or a vow renewal dinner, the private dining room seats 65, or 90 for a standing reception, and a full buyout takes up to 175 guests. Parties of 15 or more are planned with the events team: a custom menu, the full bar, and one coordinator who owns the booking. For private events the team coordinates cake cutting, photographer access and surprise reveals.

Anniversary questions.

How do I let Salvatore's know it's our anniversary?

Use the Reserve button and add it to the booking notes, or say so when you call (619) 380-2208. It reaches the team before you arrive, so they know what the evening is for.

The list runs from Prosecco by the glass to Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label ($160), Moët & Chandon Nectar Rosé ($175) and Dom Pérignon ($450) by the bottle, with Tuscan reds such as a Brunello di Montalcino ($160). Not drinking? Two zero-proof cocktails, Calm Nights ($10) and Garden Dream ($11), are on the list.

Can we host a bigger anniversary party?
